Oh boy, we're gearing up for holiday season, and there are lots of concerts, both holiday and non-holiday, to enjoy!
Thursday Even Thursday is busy! Vetta Chamber Music presents Art of the Tango Fugue (find out more about the show in my interview with the bandoneonist Jonathan Goldman), VSO presents The Beauty of Sibelius as part of their new Afterworks series, Concerts on Tap has their debut performance with Strange Music (which you can read more about in an interview with Heather Beaty and Molly MacKinnon) and a concert with the UBC Women's and Men's Choirs
Friday UBC features their Contemporary Players and Art Song: Poetry, Sung and Played in the afternoon and Music on the Point — Paolo Bortolussi and Fringe Percussion in the evening, which also has another presentation of Vetta Chamber Music's Art of the Tango Fugue and VSO's Sibelius 5, Night On Bald Mountain And Elgar Cello Concerto
Saturday Head to UBC again for Sounds and Science: Vienna Meets Vancouver or an Evening of 19th Century Guitars, or make it to Early Music Vancouver's Handel's Messiah, VSO's Sibelius 5, Night On Bald Mountain And Elgar Cello Concerto, or go see the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra
'Sunday Today is the UBC Percussion Ensemble, Vetta Chamber Music's last presentation of Art of the Tango Fugue, and you have your choice of Christmas concerts with Christmas with the Bach Choir and Christmas at the Chan Centre
Monday SFU's School of Contemporary Arts presents the first night of their 3-day 2019 MUSIC + SOUND Festival,
Tuesday Tonight is the second day of the SFU's SCA's 2019 MUSIC + SOUND Festival, with members of the Ensemble-in-residence
