Music This Week - September 19-25

Aaah, it's raining so much! So stay inside and go to some concerts (well, after going outside to go to those concerts, but anyways the point is go listen to some live classical music)!

Thursday Start your weekend a day early with UBC's Tunes at Noon with Isabelle Boersig and the Postmodern Camerata's performance, Before the Fall

Friday Then continue the actual weekend with the season opening concert for the VSO, Mahler’s Titan Plus Pieczonka Sings Schubert

Saturday There's a lot going on today, starting with the Enchanted Music of Grace Jong Eun Lee and continuing with Muzewest's presentation of Matthieu Foresi (see my interview with the 14-year-old here), Music Friends' Voice & Piano Concert: Nostalgia in Life’s Journey, and another presentation of Mahler’s Titan Plus Pieczonka Sings Schubert with the VSO

Sunday Vancouver New Music presents their second Fall Soundwalk, turning the Burrard Bridge into a giant musical instrument, and today's concerts include the opening concert of the Vancouver Recital Society's 40th season with Nikki & Timmy Chooi and Angela Cheng and Ali Zandvakili, one of the most famous Iranian traditional singers

Wednesday And your mid-week music fix comes courtesy of UBC's Wednesday Noon Hours: Valerie Whitney, Joo Yeun Shin, and David Gillham with music for horn, piano, and violin

Don't forget your umbrellas!
